Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Church 180 based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
The One True God
The one true God has revealed himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed "I AM" and has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association, i.e., Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isaiah 43:10, 11; Matthew 28:19)
The Inspired Word of God
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to man, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason. (II Tim. 3:15, 16; I Peter 2:2)
Man, the fall & redemption
Man was created good and upright for God said, "Let Us make man in our image, after our likeness." But man, by voluntary transgression, fell and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ the Son of God. (Genesis 1:26-31; 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21)
Jesus is the only way
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father except through Him. God's plan for the salvation of the world is through His only begotten Son Jesus (John 14:6; John 3:16-17)
The gift of Salvation
Our salvation is a gift of God's grace that comes through faith in the completed work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. Our good deeds and works are not good enough to ear it. Jesus earned it for us, we just need to accept it.
(Eph 2:8-9; 2 Cor 5:21)
(Eph 2:8-9; 2 Cor 5:21)
Outward example of inward work
1. Water Baptism: submersion in water in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit that represents the death and burial of the old sin nature of man, and the resurrection of the born again man. (Matt 28:19; Rom 6:4)
2. Living a life according to the teachings of Christ (John 14:15; Matt 28:20; James 3:18; Matt 5:16)
3. Attending and supporting the local church (Hebrews 10:25; Malachi 3:10)
2. Living a life according to the teachings of Christ (John 14:15; Matt 28:20; James 3:18; Matt 5:16)
3. Attending and supporting the local church (Hebrews 10:25; Malachi 3:10)
The Holy Ghost, his gifts & baptism
The third person of the Trinity sent by Jesus as our Comforter, Guide, and Empowerer. (John 15:26; Acts 1:8) The baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. (Acts 2:4; 1 Cor 12:28; 1 Cor 14:2) The gifts of the Holy Ghost are for the edifying of the Body of Christ. (1 Cor 12:1-11)
Satan is the enemy of God and his children
Lucifer, once an archangel in Heaven, was cast to the Earth with 1/3 of the angels at God's command for trying to take God's throne. He now roams the Earth as a roaring lion seeking to devour God's children.
(Isaiah 14:12; 1 Peter 5:8)
(Isaiah 14:12; 1 Peter 5:8)
Hell- The Lake of Fire
The devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake, which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. (Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:10-15)
Heaven
An eternal paradise in the presence of God Himself for all eternity. A place of perfect peace, joy, and love for all those who have accepted Christ as their Savior. A mansion prepared for each and every one of God's children whose name is found in the Book of Life which has streets of pure gold, walls of jasper and gates made of one solid pearl. (Revelation 21 and 22)
The second coming of Christ
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: " Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Gods perfect formation of man
We believe God's ways are perfect. God does not make mistakes. (Psalms 18:30 As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.) We believe God forms all of us in the womb. (Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.") and whatever gender we were given by this forming of the perfect God at birth, that is the gender you are. Furthermore, we believe there are only 2 genders male and female (Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.) and you are either male or female as God created you with the visible gender organs you have at birth.
